Wema Bank Launches ALAT App First Fully Digital Banking In Africa

Wema Bank Plc has launched its digital banking service which they called ALAT. The app which is the first African full digital bank is targeted at raising the bank customer base from its current 1.75 million to 3 million, and it is expected to raise its revenue base to $200 million by 2020.

According to Mr. Segun Oloketuyi, Managing Director of Wema Bank;

He noted that ALAT puts the entire Wema Bank activities in the hands of customers. With the app, you get power to checkmatethe activities of hackers who may have access to the card and clone it for fraudulent use. Also, you can restrict the card to certain electronic channels like Automated Teller Machine (ATM), and Point of Sales (PoS) machine to check unauthorised use of the card.

ALAT allow you to opening or sign-up for a new account all in five minutes using your mobile phone or personal computer. The app offers 24/7 customer care support, and it’s fully automated processes
